Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how Makedon Pool (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use this website, request a visit or join the Pool Care Club. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (Cap. 586) of Malta.
Who we are
Makedon Pool, Mellieħa, Malta, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us on +356 9995 3457, via WhatsApp or by email at info@makedon.com.mt.
What we collect and why
- Visit requests: your name, email, phone number, locality, preferred date and time and any notes you provide — used to reply to you and arrange your visit (steps taken at your request before a contract).
- Accounts and membership: your name, email, billing details and order history — used to provide your membership and member benefits (performance of a contract) and to keep accounting records (legal obligation).
- Payments: card payments are processed by our payment provider, Revolut. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. Sign-in and checkout use essential cookies only.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the business — our website host (Hostinger), our payment provider (Revolut) and our email provider — and where required by law. Some images on this site are loaded from Unsplash, and our location map from Google Maps; both receive your IP address when displaying them. Links to our Instagram or TikTok take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy policies. We never sell your data. See our cookie policy for details of cookies.
How long we keep it
Visit requests are kept for up to 24 months unless you become a customer. Account, membership and order records are kept while your account is active and afterwards for the period required by Maltese tax and accounting law.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta — idpc.org.mt.
